De kleding van Baukjen wordt gemaakt in 16 familie-werkplaatsen in Portugal, 1 werkplaats in Bulgarije en 1 fabriek in China. Ze hebben nauw contact met deze werkplaatsen, om de omstandigheden goed in de gaten te houden. Baukjen en maternity-dochterlabel Isabella Oliver zijn gecertificeerd als B Corporation door B Corp. Dit certificaat wordt uitgereikt aan ondernemingen die de hoogste standaard behalen op het gebied van sociale en milieuvriendelijke prestaties, transparantie en wettelijke aansprakelijkheid om doel en winst in evenwicht te brengen.  Het merk maakt gebruik van duurzame en natuurlijke materialen zoals viscose van Lenzing ™ Ecovero ™, biologisch katoen, mulesing-vrij wol en Italiaans linnen.
