At the top is a handy loop to carry the backpack in your hands or hang it up. The main compartment closes with zips. It is big enough for your essentials such as your wallet, keys, earbuds and sunglasses, but could also possibly fit a book or a thin cardigan. Moreover, the main compartment has several, small storage compartments, including for your phone. On the front and back there are additional zipped storage pockets.

This product is made from Cow Wax Pull Up leather. At The Chesterfield Brand, Cow Wax Pull Up leather is the most commonly used leather type, this is because it creates a very nice effect. It is known for its supple soft texture with a deep rich colour. How this is made? After pressing, the leather is manually coloured with natural oils and waxes instead of dyes and pigments. This soft finish ensures that these dyes do not stay on the skin, but instead soak into the pores, resulting in a natural look. By waxing the leather instead of spraying, we have created a very durable product that retains its quality and colour for years.

The Chesterfield Brand werd 10 jaar geleden opgericht en is een familiebedrijf on steroids (neem vooral een kijkje op hun heerlijke teampagina waar Ajax én Feyenoord rustig samenkomen!). Het team heeft een enorme passie voor leer en wil bewijzen dat het ook anders kan en dat iedereen positief kan profiteren van betere arbeids- en leefomstandigheden in de modeindustrie. 

Eerlijke handel: The Chesterfield Brand werkt intensief samen met de Indiaase fabrieken waar de leren producten gemaakt worden. Ze hebben langdurige samenwerkingen (al meer dan 10 jaar!) en bezoeken de fabrieken meerdere keren per jaar zelf. Daarnaast hebben alle fabrieken een SEDEX of SA8000 certificaat.

Milieuvriendelijk: Hoewel ze er wel naar streven, wordt het leer dat The Chesterfield Brand gebruikt nog niet altijd natuurlijk gelooid. Een deel van het gebruikte leer wordt namelijk nog op de ouderwetse manier gelooid, waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van chroom. 

Het merk richt zich op kwalitatieve tassen die lang mee gaan. Niet elke week een nieuwe collectie in de winkels, maar zo'n 80% basiscollectie. Op hun website vind je ook allerlei verzorgingsproducten en tips om je nieuwe favoriete tas zo lang mogelijk in goede staat te houden. 

Ook leuk? Het hoofdkantoor draait volledig op zonne-energie en het hele wagenpark bestaat uit hybride auto's!

Goed doel: Via The Chesterfield Brand Foundation ondersteunt het merk verschillende projecten in India; het idee is om op deze manier het merksucces nog meer te delen met lokale bevolking. De stichting werkt samen met Stichting Actie Calcutta en ze financieren op deze manier verschillende projecten waarmee ze zich willen inzetten voor de verbetering van werk-, leef- en onderwijsomstandigheden in het land.
